Mystery Organs of Rochester

The organs pictured below remind us of the past.  One of them is in existence today.  Can you tell us more about them?

If you are a Rochester AGO member and can identify this organ, send an e-mail to Jim Carpenter.  The first correct entry for each organ will be noted in the next newsletter, along with further inormation about the organ.

Mystery Organ 1

Mystery organ number 1

Two guesses came in for Mystery Organ 1… but this photo is actually the chapel in Rockefeller Hall, at the former Rochester Theological Seminary, at the corner of East Avenue and Alexander Street. Although organ specs did not accompany the photo, the Organ Historical Society pipe organ database  lists only one organ for that building – an 1879  2-manual, 12 register Hook & Hastings (opus 971).
