ORGANIST/PIANIST:
Rochester Christian Reformed Church seeks a part-time organist beginning in September 2008. Salary begins at $8500. We are located in Penfield, NY. The organist rehearses with the church choirs and plays for each Sunday morning worship service. The organist also plays piano during these services when needed. Our organ is a Pels and Van Leeuwen, 1985, 26 ranks, slider chests, electric action. ORGANIST/PIANIST:
Avon United Methodist Church. The position will be available in September, 2008. Avon is located approximately 20 miles south of Rochester. The job includes playing the organ and/ or the piano for the 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services on Sunday morning as well as accompanying for the choir at the 10:30 service. Attendance at choir rehearsals on Wednesdays from September to June is negotiable depending on the travel distance. The church has an 1895 Felgemaker tracker organ that was completely refurbished in 1995. We have recently acquired a 1957 Steinway grand piano. We are a welcoming and friendly church and value our quality music program. The salary is $9,000 with 2 weeks of paid vacation. Additional fees are paid for weddings and funerals. INTERIM DIRECTOR OF MUSIC:
First Presbyterian Church of Caledonia is seeking leadership of the overall music program beginning September 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. Responsibilities would include working with the pastor in selection of liturgical music throughout the year, playing the organ for our weekly Sunday service, directing our adult volunteer choir weekly, and may include directing a handbell choir. The time commitment would be approximately 6-8 hours per week. Salary would be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The tracker organ at First Presbyterian Church of Caledonia is an E.& G. G. Hook and Hastings which was originally built in 1876 and was rebuilt, expanded and refinished by the Andover Organ Company and dedicated in 1987. MUSIC DIRECTOR:
St Mark's Episcopal Church (Penn Yan, NY) seeks a part-time music director. The Music Director plays organ each Sunday for 10 a.m. worship services, and works with volunteer choir as their director. First Baptist Church, 124 Main Street, Brockport. Approximately 4 hours a week, September through June; salary range $3300–$3800/commensurate with qualifications and experience. Rehearse the choir on Wednesday evenings and ½ hour before Sunday service.


ORGANIST/PIANIST:
Approximately 4 hours per week, 52 weeks (4 weeks paid vacation). Starting July, 2008; salary range $4100–$4600/Commensurate with qualifications and experience (a capable pianist willing to learn organ technique will be considered).

The First Baptist Church is privileged to own one of the finest organs west of the city of Rochester. Our Aeolian-Skinner Organ was originally built in 1947 to the specifications of Harold Gleason, former head of the Organ Department at Eastman School of Music. When Gleason retired in 1969, the organ was purchased by Brockport First Baptist. This beautiful organ, with 3 manuals, 24 stops and 1,281 pipes was restored in 2007 by Parsons Pipe Organ Builders.

Atonement Lutheran Church (ELCA) is seeking a highly capable, dynamic pianist/worship leader for weekly contemporary Sunday service. The successful candidate will have a firm grounding in contemporary music and liturgical practices, and proven experience in leading instrumental and vocal ensembles. Duties will include playing for one contemporary service on Sunday and holidays, and selecting and performing contemporary songs liturgically appropriate to the weekly service. Qualifications include a Bachelors’ Degree in music or equivalent education and experience; proficiency with voice and piano performance; understanding of liturgical worship, arranging and transposition skills, and ability to work collegially with church staff and parishioners. ORGANIST/CHOIR DIRECTOR:
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Brockport. Part-time organist sought for opening available January 2008 to serve small town parish (typical Sunday attendance: 70-100 members split in two services, one with music). Instruments: 2002 Boston baby grand piano, 1960s Allen electric organ with a few technical challenges. The organist/choir director will prepare St. Luke’s volunteer choir (currently 13 members) on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings before the 10:00 a.m. Eucharist from September-June. The organist/choir director will provide instrumental and vocal leadership for a 9:00 a.m. Sunday service in July-August and on Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and other mutually-agreed-upon occasions. The successful candidate should be comfortable with a variety of musical styles, from traditional to gospel. He or she should have appropriate training and/or experience to assist the rector in creating a meaningful and spiritually edifying liturgy. Salary is based on diocesan guidelines for a 10-15 hour work-week.
